Privacy
You can play without an account. This page says what the game stores, and what it does not.
Web advertising and the Playam platform
This website does not currently serve advertising. Selected Playam games may introduce web advertising in the future. Before that happens, this policy will be updated with the actual providers, information used and consent choices. The web version and native apps may use different services; any native app advertising is described separately in the game's privacy policy.
See the Playam platform privacy policy. Contact Amalies Utviklingsfabrikk / Playam at info@amaliesutviklingsfabrikk.no.
Who we are
NVWLS is made by Amalies Utviklingsfabrikk in Oslo. Questions about your information go to info@amaliesutviklingsfabrikk.no.
Playing as a guest
Most people never sign in. The game keeps a random id on this device so a room can tell players apart, the name you type, your Daily results, whether the daily reminder is on, and when a remove-ads pass runs out. That stays on the device. The iOS and Android apps also keep a copy in the app’s own storage, so it survives the system clearing the page data inside the app.
If you sign in
An account is optional. Sign-in is handled by Clerk. If you create one, we receive the name and email address you give them, and your Daily results are saved on that account so the streak follows you to another device.
Rooms
A multiplayer room is run by Liveblocks for as long as the game lasts. People in the room can see your name and your answers. We do not build a profile out of that, and we do not sell it.
Camera and reminders
The app can open the camera to scan a room’s QR code. The picture is used to read the code and is not saved.
The daily reminder is off until you turn it on. It fires on this device at 9:00 local time. Turning it off stops it. We do not receive a copy.
Ads in the apps
The website has no ads. The iOS and Android apps show a full-screen ad now and then after a game ends, served by Google AdMob. Google may use your device’s advertising identifier, your approximate location from your IP address, how you interact with the ads, and diagnostic data to show, limit and measure ads and to prevent fraud.
On iPhone and iPad the app asks before it allows tracking, and if you say no, Google gets no advertising identifier. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google’s consent form asks first whether ads may be personalised. You can change that answer later under Profile → Ad privacy choices, and tracking in the system settings. Google describes how it uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Remove-ads passes
The apps sell passes that turn ads off for a day, 30 days or a year. Payment goes through the App Store or Google Play; we never see your card. If you are signed in, we check the receipt with Apple or Google and save when the pass ends on your account, so it follows you to another phone. The purchase carries a scrambled form of your account id so it can only be credited to you.
Usage statistics
To see how the game is used, the website and the apps send anonymous usage events, such as which pages are opened, to PostHog, hosted in the EU. They use no cookies and store nothing on your device, and they are not tied to your account. PostHog uses your IP address only to count visitors and work out a rough location, and does not keep it.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use the usage statistics for ads.
Deleting an account
Open Profile and choose Delete account, then confirm. That deletes the account and the name, Daily streak and remove-ads pass stored on it, signs you out, and clears the copy on this device. It cannot be undone. Rooms you already played in are left as they were.
Guest data that never went into an account lives only on the device. Delete the app, or clear this site’s data in the browser, to remove it.
Children
NVWLS is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
